How to be a Neighbor: Engaging with Native American People Around Us

About the Instructors:

  • Paul Straubel is the director of Oak Hills Center for Indian Ministries and has served in Native American ministry since 2004. His passion is to mobilize people to work together to build the church among Native American people.
  • Chelsea Brown, originally from Saskatchewan, Canada, is of Cree/Sauteaux heritage. She has served in full-time youth ministry on the Hopi reservation, has volunteered with an anti-sex trafficking ministry, and currently is on the board of Support Within Reach, which seeks to reduce the harm of sexual violence in northern Minnesota.
  • Ryan O’Leary is an enrolled member of the Bois Forte Band of Ojibwe. A former pastor, he leads the First Peoples Initiative through Converge International Ministries and serves as president of the newly formed National Association of Native Evangelicals.
  • Craig Smith, an enrolled member of the White Earth Band of Ojibwe, is a national evangelist with the Christian and Missionary Alliance and serves as president of Tribal Rescue Ministries. His book and teaching series Indigenous Faith delves into how to live a biblically healthy life in the context of an indigenous culture.
